The GE Critical Care Suite contains an AI-led algorithm which can assist the detection and localization of pneumothoraces on frontal (AP/PA) chest X-Rays by readers who are assessing the images. To test this technology in practice, we will evaluate the effect of using the GE CCS on the accuracy of a mix of frontline clinicians, drawn from groups who are likely to undertake the first-line review and reporting of Chest X-Rays in routine clinical practice.
This research study will explore this aspect of AI-led imaging further, by directly comparing the pooled reporting accuracy of different clinician groups against that of the GE Critical Care Suite. This will be achieved through using the (RAICQ) testing platform to present a bank of images showing both normal and abnormal chest X-Rays, which include images of pneumothoraces, as well as a number of other conditions encountered on chest X-Rays in routine clinical practice
